Our Termination of Employment Review Program is designed to provide immediate support and guidance to employees who have been notified that their employment is to be terminated. The review is conducted by telephone. We provide advice on the reasonableness of the terms of dismissal and assist with negotiating a larger settlement amount where appropriate.
The Termination of Employment Review Program includes collection of employment information and advice regarding the proposed exit package, including:
- review of terms of employment
- review of employment contract or offer of employment
- collection of information regarding termination (reason for termination and how termination is effected)
- review of the termination letter and release
- advice regarding entitlement to notice or pay-in-lieu of notice
- advice regarding severance pay
- advice regarding continuation of benefits, entitlement to bonuses and commission payments
- employee obligations on termination
